VOYAGER ACADEMY ADMISSION
Voyager Academy seeks to provide students with a rigorous, experiential, and challenging curriculum.
Voyager Academy admits students without regard to race, sex, disability, color, religion, national, or ethnic origin.
Voyager Academy is a tuition-free PUBLIC charter school!
Admission to Voyager Academy is by lottery. The open enrollment application period begins on January 1 for the school year starting the following fall and will remain open through February 28.
The lottery will be held on March 6th, 2026, at 9AM.

SCHOOL TOURS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS/FAMILIES
Voyager Academy offers tours of our campus and facilities on specific dates at specific times during the first part of the new year.
No sign-up is required.
Below are the only tour dates/times. Please attend one of the following dates if you are interested in attending Voyager Academy. The tours are designed to give you information about deciding whether Voyager Academy is the right fit for your student. If a seat becomes available and your student is called from the waitlist, there will NOT be an opportunity to tour any schools at that time.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TOUR DATES (GRADES K – 3)

Is my child eligible for Kindergarten?
Kindergarten Age of Eligibility Effective in 2009-2010, House Bill 150 requires that a child presented for enrollment to kindergarten MUST be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31 of that school year.

For more information about the legal school entry age and the NC Standards for Early Admission to Kindergarten, please review the information below and view the links for additional details.
State policy specifically permits. § 115C 364 states that “A child who has passed the fourth anniversary of the child’s birth on or before April 16 may enter kindergarten if the child is presented for enrollment no later than the end of the first month of the school year and if the principal of the school finds, based on information submitted by the child’s parent or guardian, that the child is gifted and that the child has the maturity to justify admission to the school.” Specific guidelines for early entrance to kindergarten are outlined in 16 NCAC 6E.0105.

Voyager Academy would like to provide access to as many students as possible. However, as a charter school, there are limitations on our enrollment. We are providing the following information for transparency and to assist in expectations.

January 1, 2026 (Thursday) – On-line application opens in SchoolMint
January 21, 2026 (Wednesday) – Pre Lottery Tours – Elementary School: 8:30am, Middle School: 9:45am, High School:10:45am
February 5, 2026 (Thursday) – Virtual Parent Information Session at 5:00 pm
February 28, 2026 (Saturday) – Admission application closes for those who wish to be included in the lottery
March 6, 2026 (Friday) – Admission lottery held at 9:00 AM Virtually. Initial admission offers made.

March 30 – April 6,2026 – Voyager Academy Spring Break
April 7, 2026 (Tuesday) – 5pm -due date to accept 2nd round offered seats AND complete registration packet. Incomplete registration packets and non-responded offers forfeited.
April 10, 2026 (Friday) -make 3rd round of offers, if needed
April 24, 2026 (Friday)– due date to accept 3rd round offered seats AND complete registration packet. Incomplete registration packets and non-responded offers forfeited.
POST-LOTTERY AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION
2026-2027 Registration
Once the lottery concludes and you have received notice by text or email of whether your student was offered a seat, you MUST log in to SchoolMint to accept or decline the offer. Once you have accepted the seat, you will have access to the registration packet that will be completed through North Carolina’s Student Information System, Infinite Campus. You will then have until March 20, 2026 at 1pm to complete and submit the registration packet and documents electronically. You must abide by all stated deadlines, or your child’s seat will be forfeited and the offer rescinded. School enrollment and registration are not secure until all documents are provided and verified by the Admissions Office.
Please be aware, for any openings that become available after the lottery is held, all communication will come from SchoolMint, either by text or email. Failure to meet deadlines provided at the time of offer will nullify the offer of admission.
