2021-22 Lunch Program Information
Voyager Academy is pleased to announce our participation in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) effective January 3, 2022. We know the importance of meals in fueling both healthy minds and bodies. Even though school meals and ordering may look a little different than years past, our goal is to provide children with the well-balanced nutrition they need to be healthy and stay focused during the school day. Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.
The price for lunch under NSLP will be $4.00 for full price, $.40 for reduced and free for students that are eligible for reduced priced student meals. Families can complete a Free and reduced price meal application online at Family.TitanK12.com. The monthly lunch menu is available on our School Nutrition website by clicking here.
Voyager Academy will continue to offer a hot lunch meal option this school year. Our lunch vendor for 2021-22 will be K & W Cafeteria! Hot meals will be delivered daily to each school prior to meal time. The meals are made fresh offsite at K&W’s kitchen. They are delivered in individual hermetically sealed meal plates kept warm in commercial grade insulated food delivery bags.
The cost for lunch is $4.00 per student per meal for all students not participating in the Free and Reduced lunch meal program. All meal purchases are prepaid. You will add money to your student’s account via the Payment portal. This will allow you to put money on your family’s account to purchase meals. You can order meals by the week or month. We recommend purchasing by the month to ensure your family doesn’t miss the ordering (7 days in advance) deadlines. A week’s worth of lunch is $4 (price per meal) x 5 days (school week) = $20+ processing fees* a week or $800 + processing fees* per month (4 weeks).
We will only serve meals to students who have pre-ordered and paid for lunch. We will order the exact number for lunches purchased. There is no way for a student to eat if a parent does not pre-order online or send in a bag lunch. The Food and Nutrition website (coming soon) will allow parents to pre-order meals, add funds to their family portal, track your meals balance and view your families order history. All families participating in the school’s lunch program regardless of their status (Free, Reduced or Paid) have to use this system to pre-order the meals. All meal orders must be in by 5pm Monday the week before the week the meal is being pre-ordered. There is a 7 day advance order cutoff policy to allow the vendor time for meal planning and preparation.

LUNCH FUND DONATIONS
Some families require more help than others with daily purchases and outstanding meal balances. A few extra dollars from families with the ability to donate can help us make sure all of our children have consistent access to nutritious school meals, while keeping Voyager Academy’s finances strong! If you would like to contribute to the Voyager Academy Lunch fund, you can do so on the School Store at TitanK12.com
