Dear Parents and Community Members:
Welcome to the Voyager Academy Report Card for 2018-2019. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction provides this data at the state, district, and school level. Voyager Academy’s report card summarizes important information about school and student performance, class size, attendance, school facilities, school safety, instructional resources, and teacher quality. There is also information about how our school measured against AMO (Annual Measurable Objectives) targets. This year, our school has received a B letter grade. Our projected SPG (School Performance Grade) is the highest it has ever been! We are most proud of our continued learning gains! Voyager has “exceeded” growth expectations AGAIN and that is great news for our kids! While this grade allows us to see how well we compare to other schools similar to us, it is not a complete picture of school quality. You can view this report
at http://www.ncpublicschools.
Voyager Academy is proud of the hard work of its students and staff and we also recognize there are still areas in which we need to improve. We continue to meet internally with our school leadership teams and externally with our School Improvement Team to review our data and to create a School Improvement Plan designed to promote academic growth and continuous achievement in all areas. The newest School Improvement plan will be posted on our website under SIT as soon as its updated. We are working on increasing academic performance as well as building parent and community relations. Feel free to check out our Strategic Plan posted on our website under the Board Tab.
Through this collaborative relationship, our students will gain knowledge and skills they need to become life-long learners. We are pleased that Voyager’s scores continue to be among the highest in the county, but we want even more! Our goal is to continue to provide challenging learning opportunities that will lead to even greater student achievement. It is of the utmost importance that every child reaches their full potential and enters a college or career field with a strong foundation for future learning. Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like to discuss the school report card. We look forward to working with you to provide your child the best possible education.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Lucas, M.ED
