Dear Voyager Community,
Welcome to the Voyager Academy School Report Card which highlights academic performance data for our school. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction provides this data at the state, district, and school level. Voyager Academy’s report card summarizes important information about school and student performance, class size, attendance, school facilities, school safety, and other important measures of accountability.
I am pleased to share our academic accountability results from the 2022-2023 school year that the state recently released. Voyager is proud to have had 100% of students complete the in-person NC state testing during the 2022-2023 school year with results shown below.
- School Report Card Letter Grade – B
- School Growth Status – Exceeded Growth
- School Growth Score – 86.2
- School Performance Score – 74
We are very proud of the hard work of our students and staff for their academic accomplishments last year. The School Performance Grades (SPG) are calculated for all schools as required by the North Carolina Every Student Succeeds Act State Plan and North Carolina General Statute. School Performance Grades are assigned using a weighted model of 80% achievement and 20% growth. Schools are also provided a letter grade using the same methodology. These results demonstrate the resilience of our students and commitment from our staff to ensure all students are learning and growing even when faced with pandemic challenges.
Voyager Academy is among the top of all schools in the state as well as among the top for all charter schools. The state tests allow us to analyze our year over year results and also allows us to see how well we compare to other schools similar to us. While this information is helpful, it is only a snapshot of the results and is not a complete picture of school quality. You can view the Voyager School Report card for additional information and data at https://ncreports.ondemand.sas.com/src/
Voyager Academy is proud of the hard work of its students and staff and we also recognize there are still areas in which we need to improve. We continue to meet internally with our school leadership teams and externally with our School Improvement Team to review our data and to create a School Improvement Plan designed to promote academic achievement and continuous growth in all areas. We continue to foster a collaborative school environment while partnering and building parent and community relations to support our students. Feel free to check out our Strategic Plan posted on our website under the About Voyager Tab for additional details about our goals for the future and our Admissions tab for information about applying to Voyager.
Through this collaborative relationship, our students will gain the knowledge and skills they need to become life-long learners. We are pleased that Voyager continues to demonstrate high academic achievement and a passionate commitment to academic excellence for all students. Our goal is to continue to provide challenging authentic learning opportunities that will lead to even greater student achievement. We believe that a Voyager education will ensure that every child reaches their full potential and enters a college or career field with a strong foundation for future learning. We look forward to working with you to provide your child the best possible education.
Warmest regards,
Ellie Schollmeyer
