Monday Enrichment FAQs

Revised August 2012

What is Monday Enrichment?
Monday Enrichment is an opportunity for students to explore other educational/artistic/athletic** activities outside of the regular class day. Participation is not mandatory, and students may go home at the Monday dismissal times if they choose not to stay for any of these activities.

When do the courses run and how long are they?
Monday Enrichment programs are held on Monday afternoons after the school dismissal, and may be one or two hours long. Allowing time for early dismissal pickups, enrichments start 15 minutes afterwards. Sessions may or may not coincide with the 9-week grading periods, but will be offered four times over the school year.

Where can I see the enrichment dates for the current school year?
The enrichment dates are posted on the enrichment site. Click here to see the dates.

Do I have to enroll for the entire time?
A student will be enrolled in a particular activity for the duration of the session. There is no partial enrollment. However, a student does not need to commit to Enrichment for the entire school year.** Students can elect to participate for one session, then do early release the following session, etc. Students are encouraged to explore different areas in each session, though they may also continue with the same activity if enrollment allows.

For a particular session, a student may enroll in just the first period class, and be picked up. However, a student MUST** be enrolled in a first period class in order to take a second class. Students will not be permitted to leave school and then return for a class. In each situation, please use the car line and do not come into the building.

(**The only exception to this is for students enrolled in afterschool care at Voyager; they may go to afterschool care for the 1st hour and then to a 2nd hour Enrichment class and then back to afterschool care.)

How will dismissal work?
On Mondays, each school will dismiss at the announce time, each with a car pickup line. Elementary School will be dismissed at 12:45 and students will remain at the elementary school building until enrichments end at 2:45. Middle School will be dismissed at 1:15 and students will remain at the middle school building until enrichments end at 3:15. Students will be picked up via the car line at their corresponding school once enrichments end.

Where will Monday Enrichment classes be held?
Most classes will take place in one of the classrooms here at Voyager Elementary or Middle School.  Other classes may be held off-campus and may require transportation, such as carpooling. Please check the course catalog to see where each class will be held.

Who is running the Monday Enrichment program?
Monday Enrichment is coordinated by Mike Huff.  If you are interested in having a particular activity offered, or perhaps know someone who might like to offer a class, please contact the Enrichment mailbox.

How do I sign my child up?
Catalogs will be available online several weeks before commencement of each session. You will be notified by the school when the registration becomes available. Simply go over the list with your child and decide which class(es) you would like to register her/him up for via the website.

Click here to register for enrichment classes.

Registrations must be submitted by the due date posted on the site, no late registrations are accepted. All registrations are treated equally. Should registrations exceed the slots available, enrollees will be chosen by a lottery process. Once registrations are closed and all course registrations processed you will receive an email confirmation shortly thereafter as to whether your child got their first choice, second choice, etc. Payment will then need to be received by the deadline stated on enrollment email to secure your child's spot in that class.

How do I pay for classes?
In the confirmation email you receive will be the payment details. Payment must be submitted by check or cashiers check by the first day of the enrichment session. Instructors determine their own payment policies and if payment is not made by the second date of the enrichment session your child may not be allowed to continue participating until payment is received by the instructor.

My child didn't get into any of the classes we requested. Now what do we do?
Don't give up! Classes that have already filled up will usually be offered again during the next session. Please also note that, due to the limited number of classrooms available, we can only offer a fixed number of classes per session. We will continue to monitor the interest levels for each of the classes and will, depending on demand, adjust, add, or delete class offerings each session as needed.

We have a question that was not answered here. Whom do we contact?
Please feel free to contact the Enrichment Program
