Welcome Message from the Principal

Welcome Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Students,

It is my privilege to welcome you to Voyager Academy High School for the 2014-2015 school year. It is amazing to look back over the last four years and see what our high school students have accomplished. Our graduating class has accomplished great success, here are some of their statistics: 30% of our student body enrolled in 15 different AP Courses; 100% of college applicants accepted to college; 88% of students accepted to their first choice school; over $300,000 in scholarship awards; 154 college acceptances; 32 out of state college acceptances. We build relationships with colleges so that they understand the quality of our students, last year over 50 colleges visited VAHS. Through Project Based Learning Instruction we train our students to THINK. Project Based Learning at the high school level is rigorous, but the quality and depth of cognitive advancement through PBL produces an empowered learner which colleges seek.

The advisory program at Voyager Academy High School is a key ingredient in developing an environment in which our students are responsible and active participants in their education. The sole objective of advisory is to build relationships with students, therefore advisers stay with their students for four years. In advisory we use a number of platforms to build relationships and create a culture which focuses on advancing students toward their goals.

In order to help each and every student at Voyager Academy High School accomplish their goals we will hold one attitude at all times: We Expect Success. This attitude means we believe three things: What we are doing here is important; you can do it; and Even if you give up on yourself we will not give up on you. Working together as a school community to help our students achieve their goals is our main priority, and we want each student who enters our school to be successful. The school community at Voyager Academy includes our students, faculty, parents, grandparents, local businesses, and many other community members and is the reason for our student’s successes. It is an exciting time to be a part of the Voyager Academy community and I look forward to continuing to work with everyone to focus on the success of our students.
